It is our mission to promote public safety by supporting the Albemarle County Police Department in its efforts to be a professional, highly educated and trained organization, equipped to prevent crime and enhance the overall safety of our community.
The Albemarle County Police Foundation recognizes the vital contribution the Albemarle County Police Department provides to the well being and quality of life enjoyed by individuals and businesses in the County. We believe that a strong community/police partnership will provide the resources and impetus for the Police Department to maximize its ability to meet the challenges of excellence in crime prevention.
The Foundation's programs are strategically focused to complement the Albemarle County Police Department’s vision of becoming one of the safest communities in America. We give high priority to programs, such as educational scholarships, housing assistance, and supplemental training and equipment for our officers. We also provide outreach programs that promote relationship-building between the Albemarle County Police Department and our community.
